Effective Communication in Internet Age
Everyone over the age of 10 likely has a cell phone equipped with all kinds of ways to communicate. The government can send alerts to cell phones. Yet, in New York City, public entities and private individuals resort to the old-fashioned written notices on publicly accessible poles and boxes. Even when rushing to work, school, or play, residents notice, stop, and read these alerts and pleas. Here is a sampling of messages from the period 2016-2019.
