AT Trail Western Mass
The Appalachian Trail (AT) in Massachusetts offers both the thru hiker and the segment hiker physically challenging and interesting environments, with several opportunities to rest and mingle with the local communities. On the trail, the natural life cycle of the wilderness is visible and thought provoking. The elevation of the trail ranges from approximately 600 feet above sea level at the lowest point (at Highway 2 near North Adams) to 3500 feet above sea level at Mt. Greylock. The approximately 88 miles of wilderness trail have many wonderful views and places to relax; one of the most spectacular is the Ledges. The photos in this section were taken between 2012 and 2018.
